Beacon

Tap in. Join the session.

Beacon is AQUEO’s session check-in feature: a way to connect the people in a room with the music they are making. A scan starts the process of joining a session record, with a name and a role that collaborators can understand.

What is Beacon for?

A recording session can bring together artists, producers, songwriters, musicians and engineers. Remembering who was present is a different task from deciding the final release credits. Beacon is designed to make the first task easier by gathering session participants in one place. It sits alongside AQUEO’s Calendar, contributor profiles and project history.

How does the check-in work?

The public demo presents three steps: open your camera, scan and choose your role, then move from the door into the room when accepted. Its fictional Glass House session illustrates a roster of collaborators. The QR on the public website leads to early access; it does not join a real recording session.

Does checking in approve a credit?

Attendance and final credits are separate. Joining a session does not automatically approve a release credit, establish a writing share or assign ownership. AQUEO’s contributor record is intended to carry useful session context forward, while final credits are reviewed separately.

Where do identity and metadata fit?

SAC is the contributor-identity concept behind AQUEO’s example profiles. Sonic Proof shows how people, roles and recording information can be presented together. Beacon concerns joining the session; those other features explain how a session record can connect with the wider music-making process.
